The Soneva Fushi Resort will save 310,000 litres of diesel fuel annually as a result of the new system technology for the stand-alone energy supply to this holiday island. Taking into account current and future diesel prices, this means that the client’s desire to achieve significant financial savings has been fulfilled. The CO2 savings of 820,000 kg are also important for the Soneva Group in the context of meeting its own ambitious targets for improving sustainability and environmental protection in the energy supply for the company’s own resorts. Upgrading to a diesel-PV hybrid supply was a major step in the right direction.
"We are thrilled to have 700 kWp solar PV synchronized with our diesel generators enabling us to save around 310,000 litres of diesel per year. That is not only a significant financial saving, but also improves our carbon footprint by 820 tonnes CO2 per year. DHYBRID did a stellar job in implementing the synchronization. We look forward to utilize the power of the sun in years to come." Says George Stuart Ward, Group Managing Director of Projects & Engineering at Soneva Group.
